Starbucks, the world's first coffee roaster and distributor, has launched two pilot projects for managing fresh food surplus from its stores, an initiative that joins the brand's commitment to donate non-perishable surplus from its warehouses to social entities in each change of campaign and letter.

The pilot started with Hope Food in Madrid has already allowed the donation of 2,300 kilos of food to social entities since it was launched in December 2017.In addition, Starbucks has started a new pilot in Barcelona with the weSAVEeat App, which allows the customers to purchase a batch of fresh products from the brand at half the price at the end of the day.These initiatives join the commitment of all the Grupo Vips brands, among which is Starbucks Spain, to donate 100% of the surplus in stores to social entities at every letter change.
